Indoor Air Quality is a top priority of many homeowners. The maze of vents and ducts in your heating and air conditioning systems that are designed to keep your family safe and comfortable may be negatively affecting the health of your family. Contaminants may be clinging to every inch of your duct system and circulating in the air that you are breathing. Where there is a buildup of air pollutants people may develop symptoms of illness such as headaches, watery eyes, nausea, skin disorders and fatigue.
Who Should Get Their Ducts Cleaned?

__________BEFORE______________________AFTER____________
If your home is more than one year old, you’ve recently done any remodeling projects or anyone living in your home suffers from allergies, asthma or any other breathing related illness – it is recommended that you have your air ducts professionally cleaned. Additionally, a clean ventilation system will allow your heating and air conditioning system to work more efficiently and reduce operating costs and prolong the life of your equipment.
Why Should I Choose H.E.R.O. Heating To Do My Duct Cleaning?

H.E.R.O. Heating has been performing duct cleanings since 1996. Prior to performing any ventilation cleaning, our experienced technicians will perform a full diagnostic test on your ventilation system, including but not limited to a video inspection that will allow you to see the condition of your duct work both before and after the cleaning. The technician will also inspect for any leaks and moisture content.
We believe that an educated consumer is our best customer. Do your homework. Compare pricing but be aware that there are many unscrupulous business owners out there that will bring a small machine on wheels into your home and clean only a few feet into each air register. Their systems move an average of 2,000 cubic feet of air per minute and run off of your electricity. Our system is a self contained trailer mounted unit, powered by a gasoline engine and moves 6,000 cubic feet of air per minute. Additionally, with our system all the debris is being sucked outside of your home as where many businesses use a Hepa filter that keeps the debris inside your home.
Also, it is important to keep in mind that your ductwork is part of a complete heating and cooling system. Many companies that offer duct cleaning are not qualified to service your furnace, central air unit or other components of your complete comfort system such as humidifiers, filtration systems or even the fabrication or installation of the ductwork itself.
What is the Duct Cleaning Process?

Our professional technicians will treat both you and your home with respect. Tarps are put down to protect your flooring and all employees wear clean booties over their shoes. All cold air grilles are covered with a magnetic sign material to insure maximum suction and keep the debris in the ducts and not in your home. We invite our clients to view a video inspection of their duct work both before and after the cleaning to see for themselves the condition of their indoor air quality.
Our self-contained trailer mounted unit is powered by a gasoline engine and is able to move 6,000 cubic feet of air per minute for the best duct cleaning results available.
The furnace filter is replaced with a sheet metal piece to isolate the supply and return systems. Our experienced technicians will examine your home for the most efficient way to connect the vacuum hose from the truck to a 6” hole that is cut into the cold air system.
A powerful hand-held blower is used to blow into and clean each opening. Access holes are then cut into the cold air duct work and panning. A high pressure “duct whip” is inserted into the ducts to break up any dirt or debris that is clinging to the inside walls of your ductwork. Then the dirt and debris is vacuumed out.
Each system will vary but the appropriate number of access holes will be cut into the ductwork to insure that every section of your ductwork is cleaned thoroughly.
When the cleaning is complete an E.P.A. approved, non-toxic sanitizer is fogged into the ductwork. This will reduce any mold, mildew or bacteria in your ductwork but is not hazardous to people, pets or plants in your home.
When the cleaning is complete sheet metal patches are secured over any access holes. This allows the same holes to be used for any future cleanings but does not allow any air leakage.
Depending on the size and complexity of the system the entire process can take from as little as two hours up to as much as six hours to complete.
